Comedian

Carl Hutchinson

Originally from the North East of England, now residing in Manchester, Carl Hutchinson first took to the stage in 2007 and quickly became a multi-award winning comedian. In August of that year Carl reached the final of the esteemed So You Think You’re Funny competition held in Edinburgh and in October of the same year he was crowned the winner of the Beat the Frog World Series competition held in Manchester. Not content with just one award he headed to Camden in October 2008 to become the Mangers Pub Comedian of the Year. The following year in February 2009 Carl was nominated for the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year. He stared in ITV’s FHM Comedy Hero in 2010 and was part of Just the Tonic’s Big Value Edinburgh Showcase in 2011 (**** Three Weeks). Carl supported former three-time wrestling heavyweight champion and bestselling author Mick Foley on both of his UK Comedy Tours; 2011 and 2012 respectively. Carl then supported Chris Ramsey on the last leg of his ‘Offermation’ tour in 2012. Carl will be performing his first Edinburgh Solo-Show this year in August. Details can be found on the ‘Coming Soon’ page.
“Effortlessly hilarious. He captivates the audience with his perfectly timed suspenseful silences and plain-talking sense-making.”

Three Weeks
“His overriding quality was his reactive nature to the audience.”
Open Mic Productions
“Hutchinson’s trump card is the way he interacts with the audience, rolling with every ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ his material generated, giving a dynamism and spontaneity to his performance.”
Steve Bennett
“His act was very dry but immensely sharp with an underlying energy which wasn’t obviously rehearsed like many others I have seen on the circuit.”
Weekend Post
“His tone and manner was very funny as he was almost argumentative.”
