Steve Parry

Part cheeky raconteur part soap box ranter Steve uses his jovial chatty manner as a vehicle for sharp topical and observational material. Steve is also a respected improviser and is much in demand as compere. He has been a semi finalist in both the Daily Telegraph and So You Think You're Funny comedy competitions and is a regular contributor to arts radio station 104.4 Resonance FM.

As a stand-up comedian Steve is a regular emcee for Mirth Control Comedy, Downstairs At The Kings Head and the Bath House Comedy Club as well as being a popular act on the comedy circuit. Steve has worked as a TV Warm Up artist for, among others, Night Fever (C5) and Open House with Gloria Hunniford (C5).

Steve is also a founder member of surreal double act Chocolate Sandwich ('Bizarre'-Time Out, 'Belligerent Welsh comedy no gooders' - The Wire) performing at venues as diverse as the V&A, The ICA, The Royal College Of Art, the children's section of the Paul Smith Shop, The Barbican, Glasgow CCA, Cargo and the 291 Gallery. Chocolate Sandwich also feature on Mmmzzz, a sound poetry compilation available on Spanish label Didac.

Steve is also an actor, is a member of Equity, and was a student at East 15 drama school as well as being in the National Youth Theatre.

Writing
He is a staff writer for the Frank Skinner Show and a commissioned writer for hit BBC sketch show Man Stroke Woman. He also wrote a number of gags and sketches for the award-winning Radio 4 series Dead Ringers and T4's The Morning After Show. He also works regularly for the legendary Basil Brush.
